🇺🇲Vietnam War Stories: Honoring the Heroes We Lost: Venancio Vera of Indiana


Today we honor Corporal Venancio Vera, of East Chicago Indiana, who served with the 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, A Company.

Venancio was fatally wounded on August 2, 1969 in the Binh Duong province South Vietnam. He was 20 years old.


A recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with OLC and the Purple Heart Medal, Corporal Vera is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC on Panel 20W Line 90.  Venancio lies in rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana. Lest We Forget.
